The list, including the named 32 women and 27 men in Track and Field chosen to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil, this August 5-21, was released by Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) on Monday.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will enter the 100m and 4x100m in Rio, but not the 200m.  She was the 2012 Olympic silver medalist and the 2013 world champion in the 200m. Fraser-Pryce will bid for a third successive Olympic 100m title, while world 200m silver medallist Elaine Thompson has been selected for both the 100m and 200m.

Usain Bolt will defend his 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay titles he won at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Games, with a new world record in the 200m his main aim, which will be an unprecedented ‘triple-triple’. He will be joined by 2011 world champion Yohan Blake, who returned after suffering injuries since the London Olympics.

Other leading names on the team include world indoor 60m hurdles champion Omar McLeod, world shot put bronze medallist O’Dayne Richards and two-time Olympic 200m champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, who is headed to her fifth Olympic Games.

The athletics programme at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games runs from 12-21 August.
