Clocking in at 10.83s (+1.5), Richardson, representing the United States, blazed past her competitors, leaving Julien Alfred in second place with a time of 10.93s and Dina Asher-Smith trailing in 10.98s.

Surprisingly, Elaine Thompson-Herah, the reigning Olympic champion, finished in 9th place with a time of 11.30s, signalling a challenging start to her season.
