Elaine Thompson Wins Bronze in Women’s 60m at World Indoor Championships

Elaine Thompson won the bronze medal in the Women’s 60m after being defeated by Dafne Schippers and Barbara Pierre on Day 3 of the World Indoor Championship at the Oregon Convention Centre in Portland, Oregon USA.

Barbara Pierre won the event in 7.02, Dafne Schippers — 2nd — in 7.04 and Thompson finished third in 7.06.

In the Heats, Thomspon recorded a new personal best of 7.09 beating Britain’s Asha PHILIP 2nd — 7.18 — and Kelly-Ann BAPTISTE of Trinidad and Tobago third — 7.20 — to qualify for the semi-finals. She consequently defeated Dafne Schippers in the semi-final setting a new personal best with a time of 7.04 to Schippers’ 7.08. Watch her post-60m Final interview.
