Undefeated WBA World Featherweight Champion Nicholas “Axeman” Walters will face undefeated Colombian “Scorpion” Miguel Marriaga on HBO on June 13, 2015 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. You won’t be bored, the “Axeman” always puts on a great fight. Last year the 28-year-old stunned the world when he savagely floored Nonito Donaire, defeating him by technical knockout in the sixth round on October 18, to capture the WBA World (Super) Featherweight Championship title. The Jamaican record stands at 25 wins, with 21 by way of knockout while Miguel Marriaga’s record stands at 20 wins, with 18 by way of knockout. This Saturday the Montegonian’s WBA title that he won against Donaire will be up for grabs on Saturday night (10 PM EST/PST).
Nicholas ‘Axeman’ Walters captured the WBA Fedelatin title in 2009, and successfully defended it four times. In 2012, he won the vacant WBA World (Regular) Featherweight title against Colombian Daulis Prescott during the annual KO Drugs Festival in Jamaica, via a seventh-round knockout.
