Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz and Costa Rica kicked off the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup in California on Wednesday. Jamaica’s Jobi McAnuff secured a thrilling equaliser for a draw in the opening match against Costa Rica in the 48th minute at the StubHub Center just outside Los Angeles. For Costa Rica, which had looked set to triumph after goals in the 33rd and 37th minutes, the result extended its winless run to six matches, despite Paulo Wanchope’s men not having tasted victory yet in 2015.

2-2: McAnuff left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner to make the score. The Reggae Boyz will face Canada on Saturday.

2-1: David Ramírez right footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box to the high centre of the goal in the 37th minute to set the score 2-1 for Costa Rica.

1-1: Team Costa Rica responded with a goal in the 33rd minute. David Ramírez found Roy Miller with a header from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner.

1-0: Garath McCleary scored the opening goal for Jamaica after right footed shot from the middle of the box to the top right corner in the 13 minute of the match. Kemar Lawrence assisted him:

Jamaica, which endured a tough time at the recent Copa America, losing all three games 1-0 after accepting an invite to participate in the tournament, wasted a four-on-two opportunity with four minutes remaining before Costa Rica broke the other way.
