Ten-time world champion Usain Bolt was knocked over by cameraman on Segway while he was celebrating his 200m gold win – his 10th world title – with the crowd at the World Championships in Beijing.

“He took me out,” Bolt said later, uninjured and smiling. “The rumor I’m trying to start right now is that Justin Gatlin paid him off.” Gatlin’s deadpan response: “I want my money back. He didn’t complete the job.” It was a lighthearted coda to a duel that had generated much weighty discussion this week as Gatlin, twice suspended for doping violations, faced off in two races against Bolt, the sport’s biggest star.

But it was Bolt’s clash with the cameraman that generated even more discussion than his fourth consecutive world championship in the 200. After the fall, he quickly got to his feet and walked quickly — but gingerly — away from the cameraman.

A Jamaican parody was inevitable.
