Elaine Thompson won the silver medal in the Women’s 200m dash in 21.66 seconds, a new personal best, on Friday at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing. Thompson was edged out by the Netherlands’ Dafne Schippers, who dipped at the finish line to claim the gold medal in 21.63 seconds.
Veronica Campbell-Brown took the bronze medal in 21.97 while teammate Sherone Simpson finished last. Elaine Thompson now ranks as the 5th fastest female in the history of the 200m dash behind Florence GRIFFITH-JOYNER (21.34), Marion Jones(21.62), Dafne Schippers (21.63) and Merlene Ottey (21.64).
