10 Jamaicans On Their Way To Compete in Zurich Diamond League

After a competitive IAAF World Championships in China, ten Jamaicans are on their way to Switzerland for the 2015 IAAF Zurich Diamond League on Thursday, September 3 at the Letzigrund Stadium.

Jason Morgan, who didn’t qualify for the final at the world championships after recording 60.85 meters, will compete in the Discus Throw at 11:55 a.m. ET. Earlier in August, Morgan, the national record holder Morgan and 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, threw 68.19 meters to secure his qualification for the World Championships.

Kaliese Spencer and Janieve Russell will compete in the Women’s 400 Meter Hurdles at 2:05 p.m. ET. Spencer and Russell finished fifth and eighth respectively in the Women’s 400 Meter Hurdles Final on Day 5 of the World Championships in Beijing, China.

Jamaica’s world champion 4 x 100m relay team which includes Natasha Morrison, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson and Veronica Campbell-Brown will compete in the Women’s 100 Meters at 2:29 p.m. ET. Thompson and Campbell-Brown won silver and bronze respectively the Women’s 200m.

Nickel Ashmeade and Rasheed Dwyer will compete in the Men’s 200m set for 2:56 p.m. ET. Annsert White will compete in the Men’s 400 Hurdles at 3:36 p.m. ET.

The Fraser-Pryce led 4 x 100m relay team, who beat Team USA to win the gold medal in a new Championship Record, will face Team USA again in Women’s 4 x 100m Relay at 3:55 p.m. ET
