Asafa Powell has clocked a new world-leading time after showing up unannounced at the Howie Ryan Invitational on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the University of Houston. Watch the video below.
The university is currently hosting the fifth of seven meets of the 2016 season inside Yeoman Field at the Athletics/Alumni Center. Powell clocked a time of 6.49 seconds in the prelims of the Men’s 60-meter dash.

He then went on to record 6.49 again in the semi-final. However, he did not compete in the final.

It’s clear that this is a part of the athlete’s preparation for the 2016 track and field season and most importantly the Rio Olympic Games later this August. The big track meets kick off this March.
