The university is currently hosting the fifth of seven meets of the 2016 season inside Yeoman Field at the Athletics/Alumni Center. Powell clocked a time of 6.49 seconds in the prelims of the Men’s 60-meter dash.

He then went on to record 6.49 again in the semi-final. However, he did not compete in the final.

It’s clear that this is a part of the athlete’s preparation for the 2016 track and field season and most importantly the Rio Olympic Games later this August. The big track meets kick off this March.
