Jamaica Wins Gold, Silver in Girls' High Jump at Carifta 2016

Jamaica’s Shiann Salmon and Lamara Distin won the gold and silver respectively in the Girls’ Under 18 High Jump at the 2016 CARIFTA Games underway in St. George’s, Grenada March 26-28.

Salmon cleared a height of 1.82m to win the gold medal. Her teammate Lamara Distin cleared a height of 1.77m to claim the silver medal. In third place was Sakari Famous from Bermuda.

Meanwhile, Aiko Jones won the bronze medal in the Girls’ Shot Put under 18 after throwing a distance of 14.32m.

The winner was Lacee Barnes of Cayman Islands who threw a distance of 14.90m. Following her in second was Ianna Roach from Trinidad and Tobago throwing a distance of 14.49m.
