Yohan Blake ran an explosive race to win the Men’s 100m Semi-final 2 in 9.95 on Day 2 of the Jamaica Olympic Trials/Jamaican Senior Championships on Friday — held June 30 – July 3 at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Blake won ahead of Nickel Ashmeade (10.01) – second and Asafa Powell (10.02) – third. Kemar Bailey-Cole finished fourth in 10.04. The 100m final is set to start in 2 hours.

Usain Bolt won Semi-final 1 in10.04 seconds after recovering from a bad start. Senoj-Jay Givans (10.05) was second and Jevaughn Minzie (10.07) third. Fourth place in the Men’s semi-final 1 went to Dexter Lee with Warren Weir finishing fifth.

The Jamaican Senior Championships is used to select the national team to represent and compete in the 2016 RIO Olympics between August 5 and 21 — unlike the IAAF World Championships, no wild cards are available.
