Gatlin fails to Qualify for Men's 200m Final at Rio Olympics

Yohan Blake finished sixth in Semifinal 3 of the Men’s 200m at the Rio Olympics.

Blake clocked 20.37 to finished behind American Justin Gatlin, who finished third. Both men will not progress to the final. Alonso Edward of Panama won the race in 20.07 while Churandy Martina of the Netherlands finished second in 20.10 to qualify for the final.

The Men’s 200m FINAL fires off at 8:30pm JA time/9:30pm ET on Thursday, August 18.

Track and field icon Usain Bolt won Semi-final 2 easily in 19.78. Canadian Andre De Grasse finished second in 19.80, a new Candian record, to qualify for the final. Usain Bolt now has his eyes set on breaking his own 200m record at the Rio Olympics.
