Janieve Russel 2nd in Heat 2, Advances to Women’s 400m Hurdles Semis

Janieve Russel finished second in heat 2 of the Women’s 400m Hurdles and will advance to the semi-final at the Rio Olympics.

Russel clocked 55.13s after she was beaten on the finish line by Poland’s Joanna Linkiewicz (56.07s). Grace Claxton of Puerto Rico was third in 56.40s. The first three athletes in each heat will automatically qualify for the semi-finals.
