The very strong and determined Williams-Mills ran from 5th to finish 2nd place in the last 50 meters of the race, clocking 51.04 behind American Natasha Hastings, who won the race in 50.52, a season’s best.

Last week, the 35-year-old Olympian brought the home crowd to its feet with an emotional, strong, and impressive victory in the Women’s 400m dash at the 14th Jamaica International Invitational (JII) meet in a time of 50.54, beating Americans Phyllis Francis (50.66) and Natasha Hastings 51.20, who finished second and third respectively.
