Elaine Thompson ran in sneakers and still managed to clock 10.94, winning ahead of Dafne Schippers from Netherlands in a strong headwind (-1.4) in the Women’s 100m at the London Diamond League on Sunday.
Thompson, who won the 100m in Paris with 10.91, continues to dominate the Diamond League in superb form ahead of the World Championships in London set for August. Dafne Schippers clocked 10.97, finishing second ahead of Nigerian Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor (10.99 seasons best).
“I still have some work to do on my start but it will be right for the World Champs,” Elaine said after the race. “I’m confident and excited.”
