17-year-old Briana Williams beats U.S. 100m champion in Millrose Games’ 60m for third

Briana Williams beats U.S. 100m champion in Millrose Games' 60m

Briana Williams beat U.S. 100m champion Teahna Daniels and Allyson Felix, a predominantly a 400m sprinter, in the 60m at the Millrose Games in Armory in New York City.

17-year-old Williams finished third in a personal best time of 7.18 seconds ahead of Daniels, who finished fourth in 7.29 seconds. Americans Javianne Oliver and Morolake Akinosun, who both clocked season-best times of 7.13 and 7.16 seconds finished first and second respectively.

Allyson Felix clocked 7.32 seconds finishing sixth in her first indoor season since 2016. She missed the last indoor season following the birth of daughter Camryn.

Earlier in Jamaica, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce won the women’s 60m dash in 7.10 seconds Saturday at the Milo Western Relays at the G C Foster College of Physical Education and Sport in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
