Watch Elaine Thompson-Herah win Women’s 100M in 10.78 season’s best time in Florida

Olympic sprint queen Elaine Thompson-Herah ran a season’s best time to win the women’s 100m event at the Pure Athletics Sprint Elite Meet in Clermont, Florida, on Sunday, (May 2).

Thompson, an MVP Track Club member, clocked the time of 10.78 seconds in a wind reading of +1.8m per second. She defeated fellow Jamaicans Natalliah Whyte of Puma MVP International, who finished second in 11.08 seconds, and Ashanti Moore of Pure Athletics, who ran a personal best time of 11.10s for third.

Thompson Herah’s 10.78 season best is the second-fastest in the world this season behind 21-year-old American Sha’Carri Richardson’s 10.72 seconds, who became the sixth-fastest woman in history with the fastest time ever this early in a year.
