JA Police Spent The Day Grooming Senior Citizens at Marie Atkins Night Shelter

As part of Police Week 2015, which runs through November 23 to November 29, this team of officers from the Kingston Central Police offered their service as a hairdresser and barbers at the Marie Atkins Night Shelter.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force shared photos on Friday, including this one showing Inspector Jacqueline Grant grooming a senior citizen’s hair at the Night Shelter located on Hanover Street, Kingston.

This is awesome to see. There’s no doubt that it will resonate very well with Jamaicans around the world. This also will help open and clear the minds of society that not all Jamaican policemen and women are barbarians but they are also humans who actually care about the well-being of the warm, loving people on the island — especially those in need.

The shelter’s feeding and hygiene programme started on November 16, 1993. The shelter is equipped with bathing facilities and clients are fed breakfast each day and sometimes lunch and dinner. The seniors appreciated having members of the JCF grooming their hair.
