{"id":1578,"date":"2015-07-10T17:21:27","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T17:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamajamaican.net\/?p=1578"},"modified":"2015-07-18T14:25:20","modified_gmt":"2015-07-18T14:25:20","slug":"usain-bolt-to-run-100m-at-the-london-anniversary-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamajamaican.net\/sports\/2015\/07\/usain-bolt-to-run-100m-at-the-london-anniversary-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Interview: Usain Bolt To Run 100m At The London Anniversary Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>July 17\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iamajamaican.net\/sports\/2015\/07\/watchchristopher-taylor-breaks-usain-bolts-400m-record\/\">Update:<\/a>\u00a0Usain Bolt sat down with Alex and Patrick of BBC&#8217;s &#8216;<strong>The One Show&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0on Friday to talk about competing at the re-opening of the London Olympic Stadium\u00a0on Friday 24th\u00a0July.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ccyu59it6B8?rel=0&amp;controls=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #f5f6f5;\">It has been\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"background-color: #f5f6f5;\">t<\/span>hree years since the superstar won gold medals in the 100, 200 and 4&#215;100-meter relay<span style=\"background-color: #f5f6f5;\">\u00a0events at the London Olympic Stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The announcement came just two days after British Treasury chief George Osborne decided that foreign athletes would not be taxed on the earnings while in London for the two-day Anniversary Games meet,\u00a0according to the\u00a0Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scontent-mia1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xtp1\/v\/t1.0-9\/15866_906119552759115_2031848492877113166_n.jpg?oh=6f818008f1f15914d7ef9c4e7db3acb3&amp;oe=564EDE52\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" td-post-image-full-and-grid td-modal-image aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-mia1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xtp1\/v\/t1.0-9\/15866_906119552759115_2031848492877113166_n.jpg?oh=6f818008f1f15914d7ef9c4e7db3acb3&amp;oe=564EDE52\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"898\" \/><\/a>Fans have been very concerned about the superstar sprinter&#8217;s health and progress after he suffered a pelvic <span style=\"background-color: #f5f6f5;\">injury that led to the <a href=\"http:\/\/iamajamaican.net\/sports\/2015\/07\/usain-bolt-withdraws-from-lausanne-paris-diamond-league-meets\/\">Jamaican withdrawing from races\u00a0in Paris last month<\/a> and Lausanne last Thursday, and he also pulled out of the 100m at the Jamaican national trials <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/0\/athletics\/33278530\">at short notice.<\/a> Justin Gatlin, Asafa Powell, and Tyson Gay have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/0\/athletics\/33474031\">all run faster,<\/a>\u00a0with Justin Gatlin having three of <a href=\"http:\/\/iamajamaican.net\/sports\/2015\/07\/gatlin-clocks-9-75-to-beat-asafa-powell-and-gay-at-lausanne-diamond-league\/\">the fast times so far this season and remains been unbeaten<\/a>. The legend\u00a0has only competed in two races so far, but fans remain optimistic. Bolt has run just five times this season, clocking a 100m best of 10.12 seconds in April.<\/p>\n<p>The<span style=\"background-color: #f5f6f5;\">\u00a0record holder said in a statement:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\"><p>I have great memories of competing in the Olympic Stadium in the summer of 2012 and in the previous Grand Prix meets in London. The British fans are always great and I expect there will also be a lot of Jamaican fans in the stadium.
