If you want to experience Jamaica’s refreshing waterfalls and enjoy wild untamed beauty of the island, you must visit the luxuriant Island Gully Falls/Blue Hole.
This natural gem is located just twenty minutes south-east of the resort town of Ocho Rios. You will travel through communities called Exchange, Upton and Lodge on your way there.
This natural beauty it not touristy as yet, and this is what makes Blue Hole so special. It is becoming very popular and as it is being developed — it may one day be as popular as Dunn’s River Falls. Here are some unique views along different sections of the blue hole and the falls.
Here’s one the first photos captured before inevitably becoming a mini-tourist attraction — no rails, nothing.
Then more locals and visitors started learning about from our social media pages: I am a Jamaican, @viewJamaica and the U.S based travel website, Trip Advisor. Many visitors prefer the atmosphere at the blue hole as compared to the Disney-like feel of the famous Dunn’s River Falls.
