Junelle Bromfield won the gold medal for Jamaica in the under-20 Girls 800m on the final day of the 2016 CARIFTA Games in St. George’s, Grenada — March 26-28.

Bromfield chased the 6-year-old CARIFTA record of 2:05.90 set by a fellow Jamaican, Natoya Goule, but only managed to record a new personal best of 2:06.21. Jamaica’s Asshani Robb was disqualified.
