Record-Breaking Jamaican Boys’ 4x100m Relay U-18 at Carifta 2016

Team Jamaica’s Boys 4×100 Meter Relay U-18 team ran an impressive, record-breaking 40.40 to win the gold medal on Day 2 of the 2016 CARIFTA Games in St. George’s, Grenada — March 26-28.

Jamaica breaks the Carifta Boys’ 4x100m Under-18 Record with a time of 40.40.

Dejour Russell ran the anchor leg while Christopher Taylor ran the second leg. Jhevaughn Matherson and Michael Stephens made speedy and clean baton changes among the powerful team.  The previous record was 40.52 set in 2015.

JAMAICA also won the Girls 4x100m U-18 (2nd BAH, 3rd T&T) at Carifta 2016

The Girls’ U-18 Relay team — Michae Harriott to Daszay Freeman to Shaniel English to Kimone Shaw — clocked a time of 45.87. Their season’s best is 45.33. Team Bahamas finished second in 46.37 and Trinidad and Tobago third in a time of 47.27.

JAMAICA won the Girls 4x100m U-20 in a time of 44.30. Team Bahamas finished second in 45.62 and Trinidad and Tobago third in a time of 46.68 at 2016 Carifta Games.

Jamaica wins Boys’ 4x100m Under-20 in 39.74 – Raheem Chamber, Andel Miller, Akeem Bloomfield and Nigel Ellis.
