Jamaica wins GOLD in Women’s 4X200m World Relays

GOLD for Jamaica's Women's 4x200m at World Relays

Jamaica has made history after winning the Women’s 4X200m World Relays gold medal for the first time, setting a new Championship record at the third staging of the IAAF/BTC World Relays on its opening day.

Team Jamaica won in a time of 1:29.04 ahead of Germany’s 1:30.68, a new season’s best, who finished second. The US came in third in a time of 1:30.87. The winning team also won US$50,000. The line-up: Jura LEVY to Shericka JACKSON to Sashalee FORBES to Elaine THOMPSON.

35 teams are competing for US$1.26 million in prize money, the Golden Baton trophy and qualification spots for men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m at the IAAF World Championships London 2017. A US$50,000 bonus will be awarded to the team that breaks a world record.
