Bounty Killa and Beres? Yes, Reggae legend Beres Hammond and Dancehall legend Bounty Killa has teamed up to give us ‘Anything Goes‘ produced by Collin “Bulby” York.
Bulby has been producing a slew of big reggae and dancehall hits since the late 1990s through his Fat Eyes label. In 1993, Bulby teamed up with Lynford ‘Fatta’ Marshall to start the Fat Eyes label which produced a number of hit songs including Want You Back by Singing Melody, Memories by Beenie Man, Stuckie by Bounty Killer, In or Out by Capleton, Jah Works by Terror Fabulous, Video Light by Mr Lexx and Mr Vegas, and more.
As of 2016, he has teamed up with the VP Records label for the release of his most experimental project to date, titled EPIC and TING, which also features Sizzla, Maxi Priest, Tenor Saw, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Busy Signal, Jesse Royal and a lot more. The project is set to be released in Spring 2016.
“The concept is me being the artiste/producer who makes the beats and get the best songs with talented artistes from the Caribbean. It is similar to a David Guetta or a Calvin Harris project,” York told the Jamaica Observer last June.
2016 has already seen some unpredicted collabs like I-Octane and Ninja Man on “Dancehall History,” on the Seanizzle’s 90’s Don Dada riddim, but this may be just the beginning of big dancehall collaborations this year.
