Jamaica welcomes 140 medical professionals from Cuba. The team arrived on the island on Saturday at the Norman International Airport in Kingston to help the country in its fight against COVID-19.
The Cuban medical team consist of 90 specialist nurses, 46 doctors and 4 therapists. professionals –All of whom will be quarantined for 14 days and then deployed across hospitals islandwide. They were greeted by Christopher Tufton, minister of health and wellness and Inés Fors Fernández, the Cuban ambassador to Jamaica.

On Friday, the Government of Jamaica announced the temporary closure of the nation’s air and seaports to incoming passenger traffic as the COVID-19 cases increase to 19.
