The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is continuing its efforts to make real connections with Jamaicans. The Embassy has posted a greeting to its website written in Jamaican patois.
The greeting by Ambassador Jong Seon Lim, Korea’s Charge d’Affaires, reads ” Welcom, mi glad fi si unnu yaso … Korea an Jamaica ah fren from long long time. It ah gwaan since dem independence inna 1962 an wi cooperate wid each ada pon nuff things an wi elp wi one anadah.” The greeting ends with “Wi glad yuh com visit. Nuff rispec an walk gud.”
The patois message was posted after the English equivalent on the website.

Korea and Jamaica have been fostering the friendly relationships since the year of 1962 when the two countries established diplomatic ties just after Jamaica’s independence.
