Jamaican Grammy award-winning artiste Orville ‘Shaggy’ Burrell shared the spotlight Tuesday night performing in the role of Sebastian in the production of Disney’s ‘Little Mermaid Live.’
Shaggy brought authenticity to the role of the Caribbean crab, which along with other roles have been known to go to American actors with assumed accents. The live-action fairy tale, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, aired on the ABC television network.
Other cast members included Queen Latifah who plays Ursula and Aulii Cravalho as Ariel. Shaggy’s appearance in the musical follows his role in the Netflix movie, Game Over, Man, last year.
