Mills Wade, a fan of I am Jamaican, just submitted this photo of Rick’s Cafe`s ad on the NASDAQ Marketsite Tower in Time Square, New York. How cool is this with the Jamaican flag? In an era when digital screens large and small proliferate but attention is increasingly scarce, some marketers are making a huge bet that one of the biggest displays in the world will captivate audiences. That’s a lot of $$$.
Times Square in New York City has an incredible light show, and NASDAQ’s sign adds to it from the southwestern corner of the square. The NASDAQ display is notable because it’s the largest continuous sign in Times Square. It has close to 9,000 square feet of display space — about a quarter of an acre. That’s 2,048 LEDs in the case of the NASDAQ sign.
